Buninyong railway line

The Buninyong Line (also known as 'Bunny Hop Line', or simply 'The Bunny') was a Victorian Railways (Australia) branch line running south from Ballarat, Victoria to the town of Buninyong. The line branched from the main Melbourne – Ballarat railway at Ballarat East station and was 11 km long.〔 The line was opened on 11 September 1889, with traffic commencing the following day, 12 September 1889 and finally closed on 1 December 1986. The section from Eureka to Buninyong closed much earlier on 2 February 1947. The line had previously closed to passenger services in 1930.
